After an 18 month search, the City of Ottawa has found its new Fire Chief, John DeHooge, formely the Fire Chief of Waterloo, Ontario. Mark and John will discuss the challenges of firefighting in such a large community and, in particular, the recent rash of fires in Ottawa. We also find out his vision for the Ottawa Fire Services.

GROOMING CITY COUNCILLORS
A group of local notables have come together to form Fair Chance 2010. The thrust of the organization is to inform the public on what makes a good candidate for Council and to give advice and assistance to those who look to run for office in 2010. Fair Chance 2010 claims not to support any specific candidate or mayor. We talk to them about why they formed, what they hope to accomplish and how they plan to avoid becoming involved politically in the campaign.
