The name says it all! Each episode will portait someone from our community who has done or lived something remarkable. They may not see themselves as a "hero", and often, no one has ever heard of them... This biography type series focuses on our dear neighbours and the stories behind them!
Here are some of our Neighbourhood Heroes:
Bob Metzler
An animal lover who turned into an animal activist. Bob is the president of the local SPCA – his motto is that every animal needs a good home and every good home should have an animal to love.
Josh Ouellette
A former police officer who helped build a youth center from the ground up. Josh lives by the motto “Its all for the kids.” Today, hundreds of kids enjoy their local youth centre.
Ron Gauthier
Working as a DNR officer, Ron passed away only 8 months before his retirement. His love of nature and involvement with Daly Point Reserve continues to be enjoyed by others today.
Rob Frenette
A high school student whose wish was to put a stop to bullying. Rob battled back and won his campaign against bullies. His victory has been an inspiration to help others.
Lynn Carney
Like any other Wednesday, friends David Whyte and Reggie Boisvert headed out duck hunting on an island in the middle of the Miramichi River. However they ended up with a cap size boat and looking for rescue. Lynn Carney was able to get to the two friends and help them safely to shore.
Sgt, Bob Bruce
Eight years ago, Sgt, Bob Bruce started the Kids’n’Kops camp, a program aimed at educating children and their parents on how the police work in the community which has children ages 8-12 participating in a week long police academy. This is the first police academy for kids in Canada.
Constable Chadwick
As community service officer, Constable Chadwick with the Miramichi Police Force has gone way beyond what people would expect from a police officer. He is instrumental in providing over 32 active programs in the Miramichi community. Two of which being the difibulator program, and the Amber Alert for the province of New Brunswick.
