Researchers Turn Textile Waste into Beneficial Biochar
Researchers are turning textile waste into a value-added product, biochar to be used as a soil amendment.
Biochar is a charcoal-like substance that when added to soil can help retain nutrients and improve plant growth. The process, which is a collaboration between Western University, Fanshawe College, and Goodwill Industries uses thermal energy to convert the textile waste.
