Grade 6 Student Becomes Medicine Hat’s Fire Chief for a Day
Foster Sissons, a Grade 6 student from École Connaught School, traded his classroom for the fire hall after winning a Fire Safety Contest during Fire Prevention Week.
Medicine Hat Fire and Emergency Services welcomed Sissons and his mother for a hands-on experience, giving him a glimpse into emergency response and inspiring new career dreams.
The annual contest teaches students vital fire safety skills while showcasing the fast-paced work of local firefighters.
