Waterloo's First-Ever Modular Housing Project
As Ontario’s older adult population grows, housing is becoming increasingly urgent. Many older adults struggle with rising rents and limited incomes, and existing housing options for this demographic are not keeping up with demand.
Supportive Housing of Waterloo (SHOW) is addressing this gap with Waterloo’s first-ever modular housing project for older adults—an innovative approach that allows high-quality, safe, and affordable homes to be built faster, more efficiently, and with lower costs than conventional methods. These homes are fully equipped to support older adults with accessibility features, social supports, and adaptable designs that meet the needs of an aging population. SHOW’s development team expects to break ground on the project early Summer 2026.
