Quesnel Weighs Impact of IPV
A new B.C. coroner’s review finds intimate partner violence deaths are overwhelmingly preventable, with women, Indigenous people, and rural and northern communities facing a disproportionate risk. At the same time, Bill C-225, known as Bailey’s Law, clears the House of Commons and heads to the Senate, proposing tougher Criminal Code measures that advocates say could change how IPV cases are handled nationwide.
