Crime Stoppers: Crime of the Month - Fairway Rd. Fatal Collision: Appeal for Dashcam Footage

 

Members of Waterloo Regional Police Service's Traffic Unit continue to investigate a fatal collision that occurred on September 23, 2020. Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the other motorcyclist who left the scene of the collision. Police are also appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the collision that has dashcam footage to contact our Traffic Services Unit at 519-570-9777 ext. 8856 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 to leave an anonymous tip.

 PREVIOUS SUMMARY or SUMMARIES:

On September 23, 2020, at approximately 6 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to reports of a motor vehicle collision in the area of 500 Fairway Road South in Kitchener. Two motorcycles were observed travelling north on Fairway Road at a high rate of speed. One of the motorcycles collided with a car that was making a left turn into a business in the area. The driver of the motorcycle, a 24-year-old Kitchener male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the car was uninjured. The other motorcyclist did not remain at the scene. The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Traffic Unit is investigating the events surrounding the collision. The WRPS Remotely Piloted Vehicle (RPV) was deployed to assist in documenting the scene. Fairway Road between Wilson Avenue and Manitou Drive was closed for several hours while police investigated.
