London Plants 200 Trees in SoHo to Celebrate 200 Years
As part of London’s bicentennial celebrations, the City planted 200 trees at Village SoHo. Mayor Josh Morgan joined Director of Climate Change, Environment & Waste Management Shawna Chambers to plant the 200th tree, which is located along a path that connects with the Thames Valley Parkway and the Wellington Gateway project.
London is the Forest Capital of Canada, and is estimated to have 7 million trees within the city limits. For those looking to plant their own tree, the city is giving away 2000 trees on September 23rd, National Tree day, at Westminster Drive near Colonel Talbot Road.
