$106.5M Fisheries Fund Announcement
The Canadian and British Columbia governments have launched a $106.5 million British Columbia Fisheries Fund (BCFF) over five years to support innovation, infrastructure, scientific partnerships, and market expansion in B.C.'s fish and seafood sector. The announcement came at the Canadian Council of Fisheries and Aquaculture Ministers' Annual Meeting. Building on previous salmon restoration efforts, the fund will help strengthen competitiveness, open new domestic and international markets, support wild Pacific salmon recovery, and improve the sector's long-term sustainability and resilience.
