Medicine Hat Commemorates The Day Of Mourning
The Day Of Mourning is a day dedicated to remembering workers who have died, were injured or became ill due to workplace incidents, and renewing a commitment to improving health and safety.
This year in Alberta, 144 people passed away due to work-related illness or injury in 2025. Which is down dramatically from last year and is lower than the 5 year average. The drop is attributed to more public and corporate focus on workplace safety.
