Ottawa Race Weekend - Team Ashbury

More than 400 Ashbury students participated in 2019 Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend.  Ashbury has been a part of the race since 1997 and has raised over $310,000 for cancer research at The Ottawa Hospital.  Here is a feature on some of the students as they prepared for their big weekend

     Rogers tv presents coverage of the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend including the two Gold Label events, the 10km the Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon. Our broadcast team of Mark Sutcliffe, Tim Hutchings, Tania Jones and Kimothy Walker provide the commentary and insights for both races.

    Tim Hutchings

    Tim Hutchings is a former middle- and long-distance runner who represented England and Great Britain internationally. Hutchings' track events were the 1500 metres, 5000 metres and 10,000 metres. His main championship performances in track and field were a 5000 m bronze medal in the 1986 European Championship and a bronze medal in the 5000 m at the 1986 Commonwealth Games. He also finished fourth in the 1984 Olympic Games. In cross country running, he twice earned a silver medal in the IAAF World Cross Country Championships, in 1984 and 1989. He also won the 1985 edition of the Belfast International Cross Country race.[1] In 1989, he picked up a hamstring injury that put a premature end to his career.

     

    After retiring from competition, began working as an athletics commentator for Eurosport. He has served as colour commentator for the Ottawa 10 and Ottawa Marathon on Rogers TV
