Laid Off from Algoma Steel? Here’s Where to Go for Jobs, Training & Support

If you’ve recently been laid off from Algoma Steel, or know someone who has, there are supports in place right now in Sault Ste. Marie to help you figure out what comes next.

The Sault Community Career Centre is working directly with affected workers to provide free, personalized support during this transition.

Whether you’ve been at the plant for a few years or a few decades, their team understands that starting over can feel overwhelming—and they’re there to help you take it one step at a time.

You can get help rebuilding your resume to reflect years of experience at Algoma, preparing for interviews, and connecting with local employers who are actively hiring right now.
